Thanks Case. Yes Gary was undone by the right wing religious zealots, much like Clinton. The damage done by right wing still haunts us today, regarding Clinton, with 2 wars and several trillion dollars of debt, and thousands of maimed and dead. Clinton probably would of killed Osama Bin Laden with cruise missiles, had he not been accused of trying to divert attention from his BJ trial. Thanks cons.
ReplyDeleteI don't agree with you. Clinton had his little "thing" but as in Gary Hart's case I don't think that it would been a big deal had they not lied about it.
ReplyDeleteAmerican people are not bad people. We are a forgiving lot, but don't much like liars.
Clinton went on to do what Presidents do, without much residual problem. He is still liked and respected.
As for what he would have done with Bin Ladin, we just don't know. That is speculation on your part. (he did have a shot at him at one point) I honestly think that Kosovo was an attempt at diversion to some extent, but that is my opinion.
We get it. We don't like Bush. I didn't vote for him. What matters now is what goes forward. I don't see much change in the Obama Administration when it comes to either war.
People who where with Clinton said he was obsessed with getting Bin Laden. The cons said he was wasting million dollar missiles blowing up tents.

ReplyDeleteYour author's claim that Stossel sued someone for assulting him, is different than that of the numerous suits filed for non assult claims, which I believe he was referring to. He does not suggest anywhere that we should allow ourselves to be battered by someone and do nothing about it. I saw the assult and believe that there were damages involved.
What you are all missing here is that increasing minimum wage does, in fact raise prices. If an employer has to pay an employee $10 per hour to assemble a hamburger at McDonalds, what do you think that hamburger is going to cost the consumer? C'mon. It's common sense. The employee is going to make more, but he is also going to PAY more for goods and services. What do you think happened to GM?
Your author looses alot of creditbility in my book when he makes personal attacks, as he did in this article. Negetive references to Stossels appearance and hair, make the author look small minded and immature. It is something that you guys on the Left do all of the time. like a compulsion, you can't seem to help yourselves. The point gets deluded when the person trying to make the point appears to be making it into a personal attack.

Uh, GM had to pay minimum wage and can't compete?
It's actually truly amazing that GM can build a competitive car paying their workers close to 70 per hour, which in my humble opinion they are not worth. But that's the unions fault, not minimum wage.
OMG! I am not blaming minimum wage for the downfall of GM! You know this. Maybe not the best analogy. Scrap that one.
ReplyDeleteThat doesn't change the facts. Raising minimum wage results in higher prices for all consumers. Period. It does nothing for the worker in the long run. A wash.
And GM didn't really compete. They built an inferior product.
